Printing from 35mm film

I wanted to test the quality of the prints I now have listed in the shop, so I selected one of my favourites and took it (the roll of film) to a printer in Budapest. They superscanned the image I had chosen to test with at their highest resolution, then emailed it to me. I loved how it looked! And enjoyed zooming into the image as close as possible and really appreciating the grain of the photo without any pixelation. So, I then knew to embark on the next step which was to ask the printers to print it to paper. I was really curious and excited to see the results.

The print was ready the very next day and I went to collect it. I also asked for a packaging tube/box so that I could see how I could send prints on to future customers, also knowing that this print would be on its way to a new owner. I was again blown away by the result! How a tiny 35mm square can be blown up to something so big (100cm x70cm) and then hung on a wall. Fantastic! Seeing an image finally on paper, having gone through all the processes of developing and scanning, is really wonderful. It is like the image has been born into the world. It is not the same simply having an image as a jpeg, for viewing on screen.

Wanted Sound

Wanted Sound explores and documents the sonic landscape and wonders that constantly surround us. Many sounds are taken for granted, often very familiar accompaniments to what we receive visually. Some sounds however are so powerful they leap out at us and demand we do something! It is possible to hear the beauty in them all. Wanted Sound captures all those lovely, wanted sounds!
